Dell Technologies includes Dell, Dell EMC, Pivotal, RSA, SecureWorks, Virtustream and VMware.

Dell Technologies’ massive conference in Las Vegas featured Dell EMC executives boasting about the size and power of its partner-program business, and vowing to make it easier for partners to transact and do more business with the company.

Formerly Dell EMC World, Dell Technologies World drew more than 14,000 attendees to Sin City, including more than 6,500 partners to the adjacent Global Partner Summit 2018. Dell Technologies includes Dell, Dell EMC, Pivotal, RSA, SecureWorks, Virtustream and VMware.

Joyce Mullen, Dell EMC’s president of global channel, OEM and the Internet of Things (IoT) said her company has three imperatives for its partner program: making it easier for partners to do more business with the company; fast-tracking more transformative solutions; and embracing and monetizing emerging technologies.

“My personal No. 1 priority is simple, easier to transact,” she said. “You will see a deal-registration process that is faster and more accurate by year’s end. We are accelerating speed to quote and are going to make sure it’s right the first time at least 95 percent of the time.”

The conference also focused on the latest technologies and products from Dell Technologies companies. Dell EMC unveiled new storage and server technologies, hyperconverged infrastructure and cloud offerings. Dell and Dell EMC will provide artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and deep-learning capabilities from the desktop to the data center.

Michael Dell

Michael Dell, Dell Technologies' CEO and chairman, opened the conference, saying technology strategy is now business strategy, putting the "nerds" in the spotlight. He also talked about the massive amounts of data being generated and said, "If you know how to use it, your data will become your most valuable asset."

Jeffrey Wright

Actor Jeffrey Wright talked about his work with Dell Technologies as the star of its latest campaign, and how virtual reality is helping veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Partner Summit

The Global Partner Summit 2018 kicked off with a performance of the "Circle of Life" from the Lion King.

"Together, we have the force and speed of a stampede," said Joyce Mullen, Dell EMC's president of global channel, OEM and the Internet of Things (IoT).

"And, while we have built – together – a $43 billion channel business and a successful channel program, we strive to become the biggest and the best," she said. "We are going to be the No. 1 partner program in the world … not in our eyes, but in yours."
President's Circle

Dell EMC announced its 2017 President's Circle, which recognizes top partners who have delivered "exceptional results over the course of a year."

Among the partners honored were CDW, Ingram Micro, Insight, Tech Data and Worldwide Technologies.
Global Alliances

Global Alliances grew 28 percent year over year, which translates to $9.3 billion in overarching revenue to Dell Technologies.

McLaren's booth in the Solutions Expo featured a Formula 1 racing car with driving simulator. A Dell Technologies technology partner, McLaren is focused on real-time data capture to advance technology in automotive, transportation and health care.
AeroFarms

AeroFarms displayed its vertical farming in the Solutions Expo. Its proprietary growing systems are powered by Dell EMC IoT solutions and expertise.
Loungin'

Partners talk business in the Dell EMC Partner Program Lounge. Mullen said Dell EMC's focus is to make it easier for partners to transact, engage and make money.

The company is "100 percent committed to making it easier" for partners to do more business with it, and is fast-tracking partners' ability to "deliver transformational solutions," she said.
Nutanix

Nutanix
's booth in the Solutions Expo. The enterprise cloud provider is a Dell EMC OEM partner. Its cloud operating system runs on top of Dell's server.
Toshiba

Attendees take in a presentation on Toshiba's 3D Flash Memory with 96-layer stacked architecture. A provider of client, enterprise and data center solid-state drives (SSDs), Toshiba has teamed up with Dell EMC to provide SSDs for systems including mobile, server and storage.
Brocade

Brocade and Dell EMC jointly deliver storage offerings in the market, designed to help organizations modernize, automate and transform their IT infrastructures. Brocade, which was acquired by Broadcom, is a Dell EMC storage networking partner.
Dell EMC Services

The Dell EMC Services booth provided information and demonstrations of its services, which include consulting, deployment, support, managed services and education.

Cheryl Cook, Dell EMC's senior vice president of global channel marketing, said partners have amazing services, "but we're doing a lot of work on our services side to simplify, standardize and really drive consistency for their deployment and certification, as well as the ability for them to make it easier to sell services in a more profitable way."
