Green Cloud, the cloud service provider with a channel-only strategy, hosted 50 channel partners at its inaugural Partner Summit, October 9-11, in its hometown of Greenville, South Carolina.
The two-day Summit at the Downtown Embassy Suites Hotel included insights and updates from Green Cloud’s founders and a lot of discussion about topics such as network security and compliance. A DaaS partner panel, a disaster-recovery panel, a provisioning portal demonstration and a compensation breakout session provided great conversation and key takeaways so that Green Cloud can continue to help MSPs and VARs incorporate long-term recurring cloud revenues into their businesses.
Of course, there was plenty of fun and numerous social activities during the Summit, which included a trip to the BMW Performance Driving School, where partners got to experience the adrenaline of high-performance driving on an autocross course.
The Partner Summit provided invaluable insights and feedback, and Green Cloud was especially appreciative of sponsors VMware, Tintri, Cisco, Veeam, Zerto and Level 3.

Keith Coker helped start Green Cloud in 2011 with C-level telecom veterans and since the company’s first full year of business, Green Cloud has experienced a growth rate of more than 6,700 percent. Tom Ellery of Tintri spoke about the significant partnership with Green Cloud and how Tintri provides trusted public cloud agility so Green Cloud can offer channel partners turnkey, cloud-based infrastructure solutions in world-class data-center facilities.
Brian Chancey of the Scarlett Group, James Melchor of Dyonyx, Charles Crampton of Akzium and Jon McComb of CoreBTS had a lively panel discussion about disaster recovery, which was led by Green Cloud’s Charles Houser.

After an afternoon of driving high-performance BMWs at the Performance Driving School, channel partners enjoyed dinner at BMW North American Headquarters. Twenty-five years ago, BMW opened the first BMW manufacturing plant in the U.S., in Spartanburg, South Carolina, about 15 miles from Green Cloud’s headquarters.
