People on the Move

Flexential's Melissa McCoy

Channel People on the Move: Telarus, Fusion, Sandler Partners, More

  • Written by Craig Galbraith
  • September 1, 2018
We also saw new faces at Flexential, Broadvoice and Fusion, just to name a few.

As summer winds down, the new hires and promotions in the channel are winding up.

Master agents again play a significant role in our latest edition of Channel People on the Move. We saw Sandler Partners hire a new Midwest channel manager, Telarus promote a direct of account management, and MicroCorp build its new cloud-elements division.

But that’s far from all. Cisco’s longtime channel leader said goodbye, and we saw new faces at Flexential, Fusion and Broadvoice, just to name a few.

Click through our gallery below for movers and shakers that work every day in the channel, and some higher-ups that will make important decisions that impact partner businesses.

Don’t forget — you don’t have to wait for our monthly update. We’re always updating our webpage that features people on the move.

Missed last month’s “people” gallery? Click here to see who was on the move in July.

Telesystem's Dave Tishler
Telarus' Kelly Hoyle

Telarus' new director of account management is Kelly Hoyle, who the master agent promoted from senior account manager.

In this job, Hoyle is in charge of helping partners retain and up-sell their existing customer base, taking on such "unpopular" tasks as fixing bills and modifying contracts.

This is why Hoyle thinks these tasks are so important.
Telesystem's Reginald Blackshear
Fusion's Michael Fair

Longtime channel veteran Michael Fair is the new chief at Fusion Connect.

Fair takes the role of senior VP of channel sales and alliances at the cloud-services provider, a position vacated earlier this year by Stacy Conrad. Fair, well-known for his roles at Charter Communications, EarthLink and Qwest, will lead Fusion's partner programs and work to "harmonize" its strategy following the purchases of Birch and MegaPath.

Here's why Fair is excited to "deliver on [the company's] vision to serve as the industry's most successful single-source cloud provider."
SafeBreach's Guy Bejerano
MicroCorp's Brant Elliot and Scott MacIntire

Master-agent MicroCorp's human-resources department has had a busy summer. The company's most recent hires are Brant Elliot (left), a sales engineer for its new cloud-elements division, and Scott MacIntire, director of partner enablement — also for the new division.

Elliot will develop pre-sales engineering for advanced hosted solutions and cloud-optimization opportunities. MacIntire is tasked with integrating the company's content and team of pre-sales solutions architects into the sales process. MacIntire is a Rackspace alum.

Learn about Elliot's technical expertise here and more about MacIntire's background here.
Sandler Partners' Kim Lombardo
Sandler Partners' Kim Lombardo

Sandler Partners hired Kim Lombardo to support partners in the Midwest.

Lombardo spent 15 years at Globalcom, which First Communcations acquired in 2008. As channel manager, she will serve agents in Denver and Chicago, which the master agent calls "high-growth markets."

Learn why Lombardo picked Sandler as the next stop in her career.
Alfresco's Ankur Larola
AireSpring's Josh Redick

Cloud and managed connectivity provider AireSpring hired XO and Broadview vet Josh Redick as its new channel director in the Northeast.

In his new role, Redick will build a channel organization in the Northeast, modeled after what AireSpring does in other markets.

Learn why AireSpring's senior vice president of channel sales is excited to welcome Redick to the team.
Optiv Security's Todd Weber
Broadvoice's Darrin Ingram

Broadvoice named Darrin Ingram as its new VP of client and partner solutions.

Ingram's 20 years of IT experience includes a focus not only on sales, but also operations and sales engineering. Most recently, he was VP of sales engineering at SecureAuth, and before that, BlueCat's area director of sales engineering.

Here's why Broadvoice CEO Jim Murphy says he hired Ingram.
Mitel's Mike Conlon
Cisco's Wendy Bahr

Many in the industry were surprised to hear that Wendy Bahr would end her 18-year run at Cisco, most recently as worldwide channel chief.

Bahr, who said she will stick around until the company names a replacement, is among the IT community's most respected channel execs. She reportedly is leaving on her own accord.

Despite her popularity, some partners say it's time for a change in leadership as the industry evolves.
Datapipe's Robb Allen
Telesystem

There are three new faces roaming the halls, if you will, at Telesystem, the Ohio-based communications company.

Dave Tishler (right), brings to the company more than 20 years of experience managing SMB and large international accounts. He's a new indirect account manager. Reginald Blackshear (middle), who previously led enterprise support for 10 years at LSI (a brand merged with Telesystem earlier this year), returns as an indirect account manager.

Also new is Seth Gibbs (left), Telesystem's new indirect sales manager for its national channel program. He previously was director of channel sales at NetCarrier.

Learn more about Tishler and Blackshear here, and Gibbs here.
Managed Security Practice
Reinvent Telecom

Reinvent, which provides private-label, cloud-based unified communications, collaboration and contact-center services, hired two new VoIP engineers and a partner-success specialist.

The new engineers are are Jake Livingstone (middle) and Nija Richie (right). Adrienne Jones (left) is the partner-success specialist. All are expected to strengthen the company's efforts working with partners to sell its products and services.

This is where you can learn about their backgrounds.
SafeBreach's Guy Bejerano
Flexential's Melissa McCoy

After nine years at Sungard Availability Services, Melissa McCoy joined Flexential, the recently formed combination of Peak 10 and ViaWest, as VP of the company's National Carrier Partner Program.

Flexential provides colocation, connectivity, compliance, cloud and professional services.

She sat down with our Edward Gately for this Q&A and also joined Channel Partners' Coffee with Craig and Kevin podcast.

F5 Networks' Lisa Citron and David Helfer

Meet the two new faces at F5 Networks, which bills itself as a secure application delivery provider.

Lisa Citron (right) is the new VP of North American channels, promoted from her role as senior director of public cloud sales and channels.

David Helfer is F5's new senior VP of sales for EMEA. Based in the U.K., Helfer will use his 25 years of experience to accelerate the company's app security and cloud leadership across the region.

Read more about their plans at F5.
Polycom VVX Phone
Teleopti's Rob Clarke

Teleopti, which offers workforce management software, hired Rob Clarke as its VP of sales for North America. The company wants him to build on its momentum in the region.

Clarke previously was SVP of global sales at Serenova, but might be best known for his stints with ShoreTel and Zoom International, leading and growing sales teams at those companies.

Find out where Clarke will call home base.
Mitel's Mike Conlon
SafeBreach's John Bolger

SafeBreach launched its first global partner program and hired John Bolger to lead it. Bolger says he wants the program to address the "exciting space of breach and attack simulation."

He has nearly 10 years of channel experience selling enterprise products and services. Bolger has held leadership roles with cybersecurity companies such as Cylance and FireEye.

Learn about his goals for partner recruitment.
Optiv Security's Todd Weber
OneLogin's Matt Hurley

Matt Hurley is the new VP of global channels, strategic alliances and professional services at OneLogin, the identity-as-a-service (IDaaS) provider.

Hurley's experience in the industry includes stops at Juniper Networks, Bell Canada and Sun Microsystems.

We talked with him about his new company in a Q&A.
Telesystem's Reginald Blackshear
Magna5's Gerry Gallagher

Magna5, which provides cloud, managed IT and professional services, introduced 40-year industry vet Gerry Gallagher as its new senior VP of sales.

Gallagher most recently was strategic pursuit director for Fujitsu North America. His background also includes a run as VP of channel sales for the health-care unit at Electronic Data Systems.
