As the leaves start to change, people in the channel "leave" their jobs for new ones. Or in some cases, they get promoted.

As the leaves start to change, people in the channel “leave” their jobs for new ones. Or in some cases, they get promoted.

That’s the focus of our monthly Channel People on the Move wrap-up.

Last month we saw Intelisys hire a new solutions engineer to support partners in the East, Green Cloud promote a Windstream alum to channel chief and Masergy appoint a new chief executive. But as always, those are only a few of the big-name companies bringing on new talent or elevating that which they already have to loftier heights.

Intelisys' Ben Magday

Master agent and distributor Intelisys hired Ben Magday as a solutions engineer for its East region. He'll support partners using his expertise in sales as well as engineering.

Magday's background includes serving as channel director for TierPoint and senior solutions architect at Navisite.

AireSpring's Barry Friedman

Cloud and managed connectivity provider AireSpring hired Barry Friedman as its new director of product management.

Friedman is a 25-year vet of telecom and SaaS software product management, having held positions at EarthLink and Citrix. He also was director of product management for both AnyMeeting and ADP.

Datapipe's Robb Allen
Masergy's James Parker

Masergy, the provider of networking, security and UCaaS, named James Parker its new CEO.

Parker is a longtime veteran of telecommunications and IT, most recently the executive VP and chief customer officer for Tata Communications. That position followed a four-year run at CenturyLink, where he led sales for cloud, hosting, colocation and consulting.

Masergy's Chris MacFarland

(continued from previous slide) ... Chris MacFarland, who remains with Masergy, shifting his role to executive chairman and chief technology officer.

“We are very excited to have [new CEO] James [Parker] join the company," said MacFarland. "Our shared vision is for Masergy to become a $1 billion-plus revenue company by significantly outpacing our competition with rapid product innovation and the industry’s best customer experience.”

Devi Rai, a veteran of Juniper Networks and MegaPath, is the new vice president of channel sales at NetFortris, the cloud communications provider.

Rai, a 20-year sales veteran, will focus on growing the company's channel sales by driving programs that "enable partners to transform and grow their businesses."

Cisco's Oliver Tuszik

Oliver Tuszik takes the reins of the Cisco global partner organization after the departure of Wendy Bahr, the longtime Cisco vet.

Tuszik moves over from his role as country leader for Cisco in Germany. He'll be responsible for creating alignment, simplifying tools, processes, programs and offers to help partners succeed with Cisco.

BullsEye's Vilas Uchil

BullsEye Telecom created the new role of VP of technology and engineering, and named Vilas Uchil to fill it.

Uchil is no stranger to the company; it's a promotion from director network engineering. He's responsible for all of BullsEye's technical platforms as well as its engineering and development efforts.

Green Cloud's Jonathan Philipsen

Jonathan Philipsen added "senior" to his previous title of VP of sales at Green Cloud Technologies, the channel-only cloud provider.

He's now in charge of managing the company's channel-partner program, which includes nearly 600 MSPs and VARs who help their customers migrate to Green Cloud's turnkey, cloud-based infrastructure services.

IGI

Kimberly Briers Moore is the new national Channel Manager at IGI, the IT services provider. She will help lead IGI in its first year as a Telarus supplier for cybersecurity services.

Briers Moore previously was a channel manager at Advantix Solutions Group.
Commvault's Wenceslao Lada gallery
Commvault's Wenceslao Lada

Commvault named Wenceslao Lada, a Cisco and HP alum, to the role of vice president of worldwide alliances.

Lada's job will be to manage the data-protection provider's existing alliances and forge new partnerships with cloud providers and other enterprise technology industry leaders.

Ruckus Networks' Bart Giordano

Ruckus Networks named Bart Giordano as its new senior VP of worldwide sales. In this role, he's tasked with responsibility for revenue, profit and all aspects of the company's go-to-market activities.

It's a promotion for Giordano, who's been with the company for three years. His last job before Ruckus was head of partner sales and business development at Egnyte, the enterprise software company.

Pax8's Craig Donovan

Pax8, the cloud distributor, promoted Craig Donovan to lead its partner solutions team.

The new VP of partner solutions will expand partner communications into the engineering cycle and provisioning, acting as the liaison between MSPs and the company's technologists.

Vault America's Robin Miller
Vault America's Robin Miller

Vault America, the data protection and availability vendor, added Robin Miller to its team as a channel development manager.

She brings nearly 15 years of channel experience to the position, with stints at N-Able Technologies and Level Platforms. She most recently was a channel development manager for GMS Live Expert, where she was responsible for growing that company’s partner pipeline and raising visibility of GMS in the channel.

Team Zailab

As part of its expansion into North America, ZaiLab, the cloud-based contact center software provider, appointed a U.S. team to lead that effort.

That team will be led by Michael Cibelli, VP of sales and marketing. Cibellii previously was BlueJeans Network'ss global vice president of channels. He also held senior positions with Oracle, ShoreTel and Avaya.
