August’s New Services Roundup
August was a big month for new products and services from the companies you follow most in the channel. Channel Partners Evolution proved to be a catalyst for announcements.
Here you’ll find new services from carrier behemoths such as AT&T and Verizon, master agent/distributor Avant Communications, IT giant HPE and more.
From mobility, security and collaboration services that partners can sell, to tools that will help grow a solution provider’s business — some of the biggest new releases are in this one-stop gallery.

New Services Roundup: AT&T
AT&T used Channel Partners Evolution as a forum to announced the availability of new cloud and mobility services to the partners in its primary channel programs.
AT&T Collaborate, which includes instant messaging and presence, audio, video and Web conferencing, and content sharing, is now available via the AT&T Alliance Channel.
In addition, AT&T said that Fleet Complete, a family of GPS-based tracking and management services that collect and send information among operations staff, mobile workers and fleet vehicles, is now available through the AT&T Partner Exchange.

New Services Roundup: Verizon
Verizon unveiled its new One Talk mobile-first service that allows small businesses to interact with their customers anytime and from anywhere.
With One Talk, every landline or mobile device, regardless of the wireless provider, share the same Verizon number and are connected directly to Verizon’s 4G LTE network. It comes with a suite of built-in, customizable features on a wide selection of mobile (both Android and iOS) and fixed devices.

New Services Roundup: Broadview Networks
Broadview Networks launched the OfficeSuite UC Order Wizard to make the adoption of its UC solution faster and easier.
The Wizard is a centralized online system that the company says will allow for collaboration among customers, technology partners and Broadview. The UC provider also introduced the OfficeSuite Readiness Tool to channel partners selling OfficeSuite UC. It says the tool will detect networking issues in order to speed up VoIP installation and ensure a predictable outcome.

New Services Roundup: Avant Communications
Avant launched its new platform for sales enablement as a service (SEaaS), aimed at helping partners sell and close more cloud, colocation and connectivity opportunities.
Avant SEaaS uses the company’s channel-enablement methodology, channel sales tools, and a selection of channel-friendly cloud, colocation and connectivity services for business customers. Drew Lydecker, Avant’s president and co-founder, told Channel Partners the platform “knocks down” several barriers to channel sales.

New Services Roundup: EarthLink
EarthLink is partnering with VeloCloud to deliver SD-WAN services and plans to roll out its own offering this fall.
Olen Scott, EarthLink’s vice president of partner channel, tells Channel Partners the SD-WAN market is “exploding” and his company expects SD-WAN to help increase its “gap of differentiation” with partners and customers.

New Services Roundup: HPE
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) partners serving small and medium-size business (SMB) customers have new storage solutions to sell to these and entry-level storage companies.
The company introduced the HPE StoreVirtual 3200 and HPE MSA 2042 products. They aim to provide a path to, what HPE defines as – per IDC – the sub-$25,000 entry storage segment, hybrid flash and software-defined storage capabilities that have up until now been available in enterprise class products.

New Services Roundup: Star2Star
Star2Star Communications introduced three new models of the company’s flagship StarBox Cloud Communications Manager.
They include heterogeneous networking and managed security features designed to further meet the needs of both the distributed and concentrated enterprise customer.
The new models support varying numbers of extensions at a single location and simultaneous calls. Read more about each here.

New Services Roundup: Rackspace
Rackspace announced at VMworld that it will support VMware Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) technologies including NSX, Virtual SAN and vRealize Suite as a part of Rackspace Private Cloud powered by VMware.
The offering, available in early access in October, aims to accelerate enterprises’ journey from their data centers to the hybrid cloud by transitioning on-premises workloads into a Rackspace-hosted SDDC environment.

New Services Roundup: Barracuda
Barracuda Networks launched a virtual version of Barracuda Backup – Intronis MSP Edition. It is being sold as a subscription in North America and Europe, and it uses Barracuda’s technology to protect physical and virtual environments.
The company calls it a “flexible, scalable backup solution for MSPs that prefer to use their own storage or are looking to reduce their investment in dedicated hardware.”

New Services Roundup: AB&T Telecom
AB&T Telecom introduced its Galileo Enterprise Connect Failover Solution at Channel Partners Evolution. The wireless failover solution is said to protect WAN connectivity for distributed or retail enterprises.
It also provides an Out-of-Band Management (OOBM) capability that helps IT personnel remotely configure and reboot network servers and equipment.

New Services Roundup: SaaSMax
SaaSMAX introduced its Cybersecurity SaaS Marketplace white-label platform featuring a catalog of cloud-based security software products for businesses of all sizes.
IT consultants, VARs and MSPs looking to provide cybersecurity protection to their clients and expand their security-services practice can establish their own cybersecurity SaaS web store.

New Services Roundup: Sangoma
Sangoma Technologies Corp. launched its new cloud PBX service, PBXact Unified Cloud Communications (PBXact UCC), which is designed for SMBs and small enterprises.
Sangoma backs the PBXact UCC service with its data centers and SIPStation SIP trunking infrastructure. The company says the service lowers costs and facilitates implementation and features.
