VMware SMB Sales Push Promotes 'People Like You'

VMware (NYSE: VMW) is striving to speed SMB and commercial sales deals for channel partners. The effort includes a demand generation campaign called People Like You. In addition to winning first-time business, VMware says the campaign will help partners to upsell and cross-sell their existing customers. Here are the details.

According to a VMware blog post:

“The new ‘People Like You’ campaign uses the voice of IT managers to show how customers (like yours) trust VMware to solve today’s IT challenges – from limited resources and budget constraints to the need for greater IT automation. This co-branded campaign features customized messaging through emails and landing pages, with both technical and business content offers that align with IT challenges facing SMB and commercial businesses.”

VMware offered up this cheat sheet to help partners get started.

VMware is marching in multiple directions to help push beyond its core enterprise virtualization business. The company’s software-defined datacenter initiative helps VARs to virtualize storage, network and compute resources. vCloud Suite is the key tool for that initiative.

VMware has also announced a Hybrid Cloud initiative that will allow customers to deploy virtualized workloads either on-premises or in a forthcoming VMware public cloud.
