VMware AirWatch Now Available to All Resellers

After completing its acquisition of EMM provider AirWatch in February, VMware (VMW) is finally able to offer its reseller partners the ability to offer the AirWatch Enterprise Mobility Management Platform. Partners can start selling licenses to the technology through Subscription Cloud (SaaS) SKUs to their VMware price lists as of July 1, marking the first time that the new subscription service will be available to partners since VMware purchased the company for $1.54 billion earlier this year.

“Opening the AirWatch channel to VMware partners represents a significant milestone in VMware’s operational integration of AirWatch,” VMware said in a blog post.

As of July 1, partners will be able to sell AirWatch’s EMM solution through the company’s subscription cloud services, meaning that cloud instances of AirWatch mobile device, email, application, content and browser management solutions will be available from resellers globally. VMware plans on rolling out its on-premise solutions and services at a later, and still unspecified, date.

For partners who wish to begin distributing the AirWatch SaaS solutions, VMware is offering a four-hour on-demand AirWatch Cloud Partner Training session online. Resellers will be able to sell AirWatch SKUs after completing the course and passing an exam, according to the company. According to the company, current AirWatch partners are eligible to join the VMware Partner Network, which will allow them to utilize the rest of VMware’s product and services portfolio. Partners of both the AirWatch and VMware programs also will have the option of instantly transacting their VMware SKUs via authorized VMware distributors.

VMware is continuing to roll out new ideas and features for AirWatch integration with the company’s other solutions as well. Recently, VMware confirmed it is working on allowing AirWatch integration with the Horizon Mobile Virtualization Platform (MVP) for Android, which will allow AirWatch users to manage their MVP-enabled devices through their mobile devices.  In April, VMware announced it would be integrating AirWatch with its Horizon Daas and View solutions as well.
