VaultLogix Completes SSAE 16 Cloud Services Audit

Cloud and online backup services provider VaultLogix has successfully completed an SSAE 16 Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type II Audit covering its IT services. The report signifies that VaultLogix’s operational controls and security procedures have been thoroughly examined and ensures the control processes are fully tested, especially with an eye to VaultLogix security and availability performance.

The SSAE 16 standard is rapidly gaining popularity among cloud services providers and data center providers that want to give customers peace of mind. Moreover, VARs and MSPs are starting to ask cloud services providers for proof of SSAE 16 compliance. (Not by coincidence, VaultLogix has an extensive channel partner program.)

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), designed the SSAE 16 SOC 2 as the “officially recognized auditing standard for service organizations to demonstrate they have adequate controls and processes in place,” according to the press release. A SOC 2 Type II examination shows that an independent auditing firm has reviewed a firm's control processes and verified that they are operating effectively.

Certified public accounting firm Whittlesey & Hadley conducted the SOC 2 Type II audit for Massachusetts-based VaultLogix, covering both the Internet Vault Advantage and Internet Vault Classic backup services, as well as those services’ primary data centers.

Online backup services, like those that VaultLogix offers, help companies follow government compliance regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, PCI, and Graham-Leach-Bliley. VaultLogix will provide a copy of the SOC 2 report to its customers on request.
