MSP Reaches Out to SAP Customers

Most eyes are focused on this week's RSA Security conference in San Francisco. But I took a detour to Las Vegas, where SAP is hosting a partner conference and some news is already  surfacing at the event. And yes, it involves managed services converging with SAP.

Symmetry Corp., which provides hosting services for SAP applications, has expanded its SAP technical managed services under its Sym-Remote product line. According to a press release hitting wires today, the managed service:

"ensures monthly budget stability with an affordable, fixed-rate pricing model that incorporates SAP technical support and SAP application hosting to provide end-to-end accountability of the full technology stack. Unlike other hosting providers, Symmetry’s 100 percent focus on SAP enables optimal management of SAP application availability, capacity and performance."
I'm curious to see if Symmetry's story is unique -- or if more hosting and managed services news will surface here at the SAP partner conference.

The SAP event comes at a key time. The company recently changed CEOs amid maintenance fee concerns from some customers. And Wall Street has been calling on SAP to more clearly articulate its SaaS and cloud strategy.
