CTERA Updates Hybrid Cloud Storage OS

CTERA, the Israeli storage solution vendor that caters to the MSP and value added reseller communities, has announced an update to its Cloud Attached Storage products, giving “bare-metal” and server hybrid cloud backup to their line of appliances. Here’s the scoop.

The highlights of CTERA OS 2.5/CTERA Portal 2.5, as per the company’s press release:

  • Bare-Metal Backup and Recovery: incremental, disk-level backup of live machines, stored in both the cloud and locally.
  • Server Agents: Backup and recover Microsoft Windows servers, including Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server, and Active Directory.
  • Collaboration: Invite others to view and edit selected files and folders stored locally or in the cloud.
This update announcement comes with a few more tidbits of CTERA news: they’ve launched an SMB-targeted C400 appliance to their product lineup with up to 8TB of storage.

What’s more, CTERA now says it’s completed the first phase of its channel master plan, with partners all over America and Europe. They say that they have access to over 20,000 VARs and MSPs across both locales.

With that many partners, it’s a wonder MSPmentor doesn’t hear more about the CTERA’s goings-on. And we also have to wonder: Is there room for more partners within the CTERA partner program? Stay tuned for more on an interesting hybrid cloud solution vendor.
