CentraStage Continues Managed Services Cloud Momentum

CentraStage Continues Managed Services Cloud Momentum

CentraStage, a remote monitoring and management tool provider in Europe, says it generated strong momentum in Q2 2010. A prime example: The company's SaaS-based software doubled the number of devices it managead in Q2 2010 vs. Q2 2009, CentraStage says. But who exactly is CentraStage and is the company planning to compete on a global basis against entrenched North American MSP software providers?

CentraStage sells to both MSPs and in-house IT departments. The company appears to have momentum in the education vertical. During Q2, CentraStage signed up more than 30 new "education authorities" representing hundreds of schools, a spokesperson says. One win involves a UK education authority managing devices across 180 schools, the spokesperson adds. Another recent win involves Best Buy, the company adds.

Though impressive, the Best Buy win has some irony: In North America, MSPs certainly don't want to hear about software companies arming Best Buy with RMM tools...

We'll be watching to see if CentraStage scores some SaaS wins in other geographies -- such as North America and Australia. I'll also work to determine if CentraStage is profitable.

Meanwhile, MSPmentor continues to see North American RMM software companies such as Kaseya and N-able pushing deeper into CentraStage's traditional European turf.
