6fusion Cloud Platform Gains ConnectWise PSA Integration

6fusion Cloud Platform Gains ConnectWise PSA Integration

Infrastructure-as-a-service provider 6fusion now integrates with ConnectWise PSA, potentially helping service providers centralize all customer information. The move is the first of many expected to be announced at this week's ConnectWise IT Nation conference in Orlando, Fla. Here are the details.

6fusion VP of Product Management Rob Bissett says that this kind of integration is just another way the company is working on metering and billing the cloud. ConnectWise workloads can export to the cloud by way of UC6, which means they're included on the bill and can be charged by the Workload Allocation Cube (WAC) metric.

ConnectWise users, meanwhile, gain another potential path into the cloud. By keeping customer accounts, data, and workflows integrated on-premise and in the cloud, MSPs may require less resources to keep everything everywhere up to date.

The last time I spoke with 6fusion and we had that chat about cloud billing, Bissett intimated that they might have more announcements coming down the pipeline. He says their goal is twofold: push WAC as a standard and build value for the channel with as much functionality into UC6 as possible.

Bissett, as you may recall, left N-able in August 2010 to join 6fusion. We'll be watching the company closely as we expect more IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) moves in the near future.
