USA Datanet, a division of the NASDAQ-traded WVT Communications (WWVY), has announced a reseller partnership with Perimeter E-Security to offer customers hosted Microsoft Exchange, Office Communications Server (neé Lync) and SharePoint, in addition to the cloud-delivered security product lineup you might expect from Perimeter’s name.

According to the press release, USA Datanet already offers voice, data, e-faxing and conferencing to its SMB customers – and by adding Perimeter’s cloud products to its portfolio, the company is hoping to turn itself into a veritable one-stop shop where users can get the entire range of cloud services. In theory, such a move would reduce the complexity and time spent managing cloud services.

I would have expected the very recent acquisition of managed cloud service provider Intermedia to promote this partnership among WVT Communications investors. But at press time, it was looking like the announcement had actually caused a depression in WVVT’s stock price.
