USA Datanet Launches Hosted UC Channel Program for CSPs
USA Datanet, a division of the NASDAQ-traded WVT Communications (WWVY), has officially launched a channel partner program around its hosted unified communications (UC) services. In addition to the standard commissions, webinars, marketing materials and so forth, USA Datanet is offering partners a UC Sales Certification training program from fellow WVT subsidiary Alteva.
The program’s launch gives VARs, managed service providers and resellers access to USA Datanet’s cloud portfolio, which includes “hosted VoIP, video conferencing, data backup through Mozy and Microsoft Communication Services, including Exchange, Office Communications Server (OCS) and SharePoint,” according to the press release. It appears that USA Datanet isn’t currently reselling the more modern versions of Microsoft UC software, like Microsoft Lync.
Here’s what Louis Hayner, Chief Sales Officer of WVT along with both subsidiaries Alteva and USA Datanet, had to say on the announcement in a prepared statement:
“One of the advantages of selling USA Datanet’s VoIP and UC solution is that it allows the channel community to bring hosted capabilities and features to the small business community that were previously only available to larger corporations. Alteva has had great success with its channel base and we wanted to utilize Alteva’s channel experience and techniques to help USA Datanet build its channel. The move will help enhance the value of its partners by helping them learn how to position their services, expand their offerings, boost revenues and increase market share.”
The partner program itself seems fairly standard: UC Certified partners get the highest commission rates; Premier partners are required to meet quarterly quotas set by USA Datanet’s channel team; Preferred partners have no quotas at all; Referral partners make money for referring customers back to USA Datanet.
Otherwise, this appears to be a straightforward partner program, with dedicated channel managers assisting partners with deployment and sales, networking events and marketing materials.
Intriguingly, Alteva just launched its own UC partner program in mid-July. Will the two WVT Communications subsidiaries compete in the channel? Stay tuned to TalkinCloud for clues.
