Tech Data Corporation (TECD) announced it has added new Core and BOOST training programs to Momentum, the company’s education and training program for Cisco Systems (CSCO) resellers. Both Core and BOOST are aimed at helping the distributor’s Cisco resellers to gain the specialization enablement and knowledge needed to boost their sales and increase customer satisfaction in the channel.

Tech Data provided the first details on its new Cisco training programs during this week’s TechSelect Partner Conference in Orlando. Both programs will be offered through the company’s Advanced Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) division. Although the program is open to all Cisco partners, the Core programs are aimed specifically at newly authorized Cisco partners, with five 30-minute webinars dedicated to topics that coincide with the company’s five Core pillars, said Tech Data. BOOST was designed specifically for Cisco partners with post-specializations and includes resources for the operations, sales, marketing and services divisions of Cisco. The program will help channel partners leverage valuable consultation services, case studies, business transformation workshops and more as they work to increase their expertise in Cisco’s product and services portfolio.

“As we continue to focus on strategic programs to enable our solution providers to successfully and seamlessly grow their Cisco practices, we are proud to introduce our new Core and BOOST programs,” said Angie Beltz, vice president, Product Marketing, Cisco Solutions Group at Tech Data, in a prepared statement. “These programs include customized value-added services to ensure success. Whatever level of Cisco certification obtained by solution providers, we are offering enablement tools every step of the way as part of Momentum.”

The distributor noted its new training programs are the next step in driving its enablement strategy for Cisco partners. The company recently introduced the SMARTattach Opportunity Portal in April as a way for partners to manage their service contract renewals of Cisco products sold in North and South America. All of Tech Data’s Cisco training programs, Momentum and the SMARTattach Opportunity Portal can be accessed through the revamped Tech Data Cisco Dashboard.

The new training programs are an extension of Tech Data’s continued relationship with Cisco, after the distribution giant won two Cisco Partner Summit awards for Global Distributor of the Year and U.S. Distributor of the year in March. The company was also awarded with Cisco’s Enterprise Networking Distributor of the Year award from during the 2014 Americas Distribution Forum in February.
