Tech Data (TECD) has extended its agreement with mobility service provider SquareTrade to offer mobile protection, including device replacement and other protection programs, to its channel partner customers in Europe.

SquareTrade already offers warranties in North America for everything from phones and laptops to cameras and household appliances. By bringing the same level of protection to the European market, Tech Data believes it will be able to give customers a more robust offering.

“Tech Data Mobile Solutions is pleased to announce its arrangement with SquareTrade, which will offer end-to-end mobile insurance programs and streamline the supply chain to provide the most comprehensive mobile solutions in the industry,” said Rod Millar, senior vice president, Tech Data Mobile Solutions, in a prepared statement. “We have the infrastructure, resources and expertise in place to provide highly efficient and effective complete mobile solutions. Combined with SquareTrade’s expertise in quality device protection, we are offering our customers complete, winning mobile solutions.”

Tech Data Europe and SquareTrade say that their protection plans will allow resellers and end users to take advantage of a complete solution for mobile device protection, ultimately providing peace of mind for both VARs and customers. The two companies first joined forces last year for the North American market.

Tech Data did not say when the agreement would take effect for its European customers.
