Sumo Logic is offering on Amazon Web Services (AWS) (NASDAQ: AMZN) its Sumo Logic Free, an enterprise-grade log management and analytics service, to help customers eliminate the need for and cost of on-premise solutions.

According to the log management and analytics firm the general availability of Sumo Logic Free on AWS offers “full functionality, including distributed search, analytics, monitoring and alerting, and role-based access controls, with no third-party hardware or software required to run the service.”

Sumo Logic Free on AWS allows customers to gather and analyze up to 3.5GB of log data, providing insights into application performance and infrastructure operations. With Sumo Logic’s distributed Big Data pipeline, users can “analyze data with near-zero latency and to react in real time to resolve issues before there is an operational impact on the business,” according to the company. Sumo Logic Free also has built-in high availability across four AWS Availability Zones.

Sumo Logic’s cloud-based service is powered by patent-pending Elastic Log Processing and LogReduce technologies, and changes log data into actionable insights for “IT operations, application management, and security and compliance teams.” The company is backed by Greylock Partners, Sutter Hill Ventures and investor Shlomo Kramer.
