Standing Cloud, OpSource to Simplify Cloud App Management

Standing Cloud and OpSource have partnered to make deployment and management of cloud applications easier. The cloud application deployment and management offering will be called Standing Cloud powered by OpSource. Here are the details:

Standing Cloud powered by OpSource will deliver what each company does best, in one single solution. Standing Cloud, a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and web application management provider, will offer built-in monitoring system stock management tools that both companies say will simplify system integration. Meanwhile, OpSource, an enterprise cloud and managed hosting services provider, will design an application layer that lets clients access the more than 80 web applications Standing Cloud supports. Among those applications are WordPress, DotProject and SugarCRM.

Here’s OpSource CEO Treb Ryan on the benefits of Standing Cloud powered by OpSource, taken from the press release:

“The value of cloud computing is about much more than servers. End users require a ‘full stack’ of enterprise-quality components, from top quality hardware and management services like those from OpSource, to applications business users need to get their jobs done. ‘Standing Cloud powered by OpSource’ represents a simple and powerful solution for anyone who wants to use the cloud, regardless of technical expertise.”

Standing Cloud powered by OpSource is likely a response to Forrester Research’s prediction that “informal buyers,” — application developers and service providers — will drive cloud development. These informal buyers are looking for integrated, full stack solutions, and that’s exactly what OpSource and Standing Cloud are delivering with Standing Cloud powered by OpSource.

OpSource has been out looking for technology partners in full force. The company partnered with Tenzing Managed IT Services on a public cloud offering, and recently signed an agreement with the Virtual Computing Environment Company (VCE) to deliver its solutions to managed service providers that accelerate the go-to-market strategy for launching public clouds.
