Solarflare Expands 10G Ethernet Offerings with Advanced HPC
Gigabit Ethernet vendor Solarflare is advancing its plans to move deeper into the education, government and defense verticals through a strategic relationship with Advanced HPC, provider of high-performance computing platforms and Linux clusters with a focus on the aforementioned target verticals. The partnership deepens an existing VAR relationship between the companies. Here’s the scoop …
Speed is the bottom line when it comes to low-latency network clusters, and that’s exactly what’s on the minds of Solarflare and Advanced HPC. The companies are working together to interweave their technology to meet the increasing demands of high-performance networks everywhere. That means VARs working with these companies have new packaged solutions to sell. Now, partners can quote and buy the Solarflare SFN5000 line of 10GbE server adapters through Solarflare’s two-tiered distribution channel.
What’s more, Advanced HPC also features a line of products for SAN, NAS, data and de-duplication and more. Any storage platform is only as fast as the tightest bottleneck, so the partnership is complementary, with Solarflare’s networking know-how providing the backbone for the Advanced HPC’s storage solutions.
This new deal also serves to reaffirm and expand Solarflare’s and Advanced HPC’s long-standing strategic partnership and VAR program, which launched in September 2010. According to Solarflare, the program has since grown 90 percent in just six months with direct technical support and sales.
