5. When’s That Deal Going to Happen?: Still waiting for a major midwestern CEO to pull the trigger on a major managed services-related acquisition. I still expect the deal to happen and will share details when it’s official.

4. Managed Services Down Under: The MSPAlliance’s MSPWorld Australia conference was sold out. Roughly 40 to 45 people attended, according to a Kaseya representative at the event. Next Up: MSPWorld London.

3. It’s A Deal: CA Inc. acquired performance management specialist NetQoS Inc. for $200 million in cold hard cash. Following that announcement, Nimsoft CEO Gary Read noted: “I think that this deal might mean that Nimsoft is now the largest independent systems management company.”

2. Kaseya 6 and SaaS: CEO Gerald Blackie tells me Kaseya’s SaaS strategy is on track and “a big piece of it is expected to come alive in October.” Separately, watch for a potential name change ahead of the Kaseya 6 introduction. It could be Kaseya 2 for “second generation.”

1. Symantec Managed Services?: Three times in three weeks, I’ve heard from sources who say Symantec is looking to potentially acquire managed services software companies. If true, would a deal help Symantec’s SaaS strategy?
