SEMYOU Offers Cloud App for Secure Online Business File Storage

Cloud business application provider SEMYOU has introduced a new offering to help companies manage and store business files online securely, a pain point for companies that worry about using the cloud for important data.

The new application, sem.DRIVE, is the first from the Switzerland-based company to offer secure cloud storage for enterprises of all sizes, SEMYOU said in a press release. The app makes files accessible from any device connected to it, and business users can save files online and share them with employees, teams, customers and partners.

The new sem.DRIVE solution can be used as local file storage with 256 Bit Encryption for each file, with the ability to upload any files stored in the drive onto the SEMYOU SaaS Cloud Platform, the company said. To enhance the security of the files being stored, administrators can use an Advanced Permissions Management feature for handling the permissions of files regarding teams and employees in the business.

“Files can be lost or damaged in various ways, like hard disk failures, viruses or hacker attacks,” a company spokesperson said in the release. “For both private and commercial users, sem.DRIVE can be used as an online hard drive where a centralized online backup of all files is saved.”

sem.DRIVE supports all file formats, including those for images, documents, videos and the like, with no file-type restriction, the spokesperson said. Control of files and storage is done through drag-and-drop, and files can be tagged, titled and labeled with descriptions for easy discovery later.

SEMYOU offers more than 30 cloud-based business applications as part of a unified cloud platform that allows business of all sizes to bring their business into the cloud and customize solutions to fit their needs, the company said.

In addition to the new app, other offerings from SEMYOU include sem.TASK for task management; sem.CLOUD OFFICE for central administration of apps; sem.SCHEDULER for online scheduling; sem.CALENDAR for calendaring; sem.DB, an online database, and sem.VOICE for voice recording.
