Security solutions providers Ping Identity and Identity Over IP (ID/IP) are joining Cisco’s (CSCO) Identity Services Engine (ISE) ecosystem to provide additional protective measures for the Internet of Things and public, private and hybrid sales.

The partnership is expected to strengthen authentication and authorization services for large enterprises without harming the user experience, thus creating more secure and easy to manage cloud applications, according to the companies. Ping Identity and ID/IP plan to streamline the secure login process for IT devices by eliminating the use of passwords with the Cisco IoT Connector, which integrates Ping Indentity’s PingFederate federation server with Cisco ISE via the Cisco pxGrid content exchange framework for a frictionless identity and device management experience, according to Ping.

Cisco and its partners expect the new collaboration to help organizations benefit from a more reliable way to determine user assurance levels for cloud access outside of their provisioned networks. The IoT connector will also give users zero sign-in capabilities, coordinated authentication and authorization features and adaptive friction to help IT apply dynamic authentication rules in real time.
