Enterprise software developer Oracle (ORCL) has released cloud management tool suite Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c Release 3 to general availability, adding capabilities for deploying and managing business applications in enterprise private clouds.

Oracle designed Enterprise Manager 12c R3, which supports Oracle Database 12, as a tool to help cloud services providers simplify management of infrastructure, middleware and applications and reduce cloud costs.

The new release introduces capabilities for deploying and managing business applications in an enterprise private cloud, such as platform as a service (PaaS), business application management, and integrated hardware-software management for engineered systems, including Oracle Exalytics In-Memory Machine and Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud.

Oracle Product Strategy and Business Development Vice President Sushil Kumar said in a prepared statement that cloud providers need solutions to new management challenges.

"With these new enhanced features we are enabling cloud service providers to increase the efficiency and agility of their cloud environments," he said. "Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c Release 3 advances the state of the art in cloud management for service providers."

Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c R3 also has expanded middleware and application management capabilities. The company said that there are now 600 Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) specialized status partners for Oracle Enterprise Manager.

The new release is available for download here. Oracle partner programs can be found on the company's website.
