Oracle (ORCL) is looking to simplify the task of developing and launching online storefronts with the release of Oracle Commerce Cloud, a scalable SaaS solution that includes full-featured responsive storefronts for desktop and mobile devices.

Oracle (ORCL) is looking to simplify the task of developing and launching online storefronts with the release of Oracle Commerce Cloud, a scalable SaaS solution that includes full-featured responsive storefronts for desktop and mobile devices.

Oracle Commerce Cloud is the latest addition to the cloud application vendor’s Oracle Customer Experience portfolio and is built for the Oracle Public Cloud, according to the announcement. The company expects the solution to help businesses develop their own e-commerce sites on a relatively small budget with simplified IT management.

Businesses can utilize Oracle Commerce Cloud to spin up configurable responsive storefronts with several out-of-the-box commerce features, including search and navigation tools recommendations, promoting, reporting and SEO. Oracle said the solution unifies catalog, content, design and merchandising management through a single management console so that less code-savvy users can still manage their online storefronts with ease.

“Commerce Cloud is a new, differentiating piece of the broader Oracle CX cloud applications portfolio and helps ensure online businesses no longer have to worry about deploying code, upgrading, and managing day-to-day infrastructure,” said Ken Volpe, senior vice president of product development at Oracle, in a statement. “Online businesses can focus on building customer experiences that drive innovation and growth, and an automatically responsive user interface gives brands a limitlessly configurable storefront with proven features expected from the commerce experts.”

In keeping with the theme of simplicity, Oracle has included several themes, layouts and modular widgets in the box to help users differentiate their websites. Commerce Cloud’s architecture also allows users to utilize JavaScript frameworks to simplify implementation and adoption, create API-first architecture and develop an HTML5 user interface, according to the announcement. More advanced users can integrate Oracle Commerce Cloud with the company’s other applications via PaaS, Java Cloud and Developer Cloud to drive growth.

The solution has already seen success among both midsized and enterprise business customers through an early-release program in spring, Oracle said. With the general release of Commerce Cloud, Oracle said it is focusing on enabling partners to better understand the new product through a global Commerce Cloud rollout and training program, which features bootcamps and hackathons for partners in the United States and Europe.

News of Oracle’s new Cloud Commerce solution comes on the heels of Oracle Executive Chairman Larry Ellison’s massive cloud announcement last week, in which the company unveiled 24 new cloud services.
