New Certification: Coaching in the Cloud
Every segment of the IT channel, it seems, needs good business coaches. Our sister sites MSPmentor and The VAR Guy have noted the business coaching craze within the MSP and reseller market segments. And now channel coaching is coming to cloud computing. But will integrators sign on?
At the Salesforce DreamForce conference, Baker Communications launched a Coaching in the Cloud Partner Practice Builder. It’s a certification program designed for Salesforce.com systems integrators and training partners.
But what exactly is the practice builder? In short, it’s a certification that apparently helps integrators deliver faster sales force automation ROI to end-customers.
The Good and the Bad
I realize dozens of reputable, high-quality coaches assist VARs and MSPs in the IT channel. But I’m sometimes wary when new coaching certifications or coaching initiatives pop up, because some of the coaches running around the channel are has-been resellers who never really succeeded on their own.
Still, Baker Communications seems to have a strong track record in the sales force automation and performance improvement markets. The company claims over 1,000 corporations per year, including 50% of the Fortune 500, leverage Baker Communications to improve the performance of their business critical functions.
Those are pretty impressive stats, which explains why we’ll be watching the the cloud coaching certification very closely in the months to come.
