Netmagic, Cisco and VMware Bring Cloud Computing Platform To India
Managed hosted IT service provider Netmagic Solutions, based in India, is leveraging VMware and Cisco cloud technology and expertise to launch an infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) platform for enterprises and service providers worldwide. Call it yet another sign that the cloud is booming in India — maybe even moreso than elsewhere.
In the official announcement, Netmagic says it’s among the first VMware Service Provider Program (VSSP) partners in India to develop the orchestration layer on top of the VMware vSphere virtualization platform. And it’s using the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) for deploying infrastructure and compute resources.
But VMware and Cisco didn’t just provide the technology behind their IaaS platform. Netmagic says the two companies were instrumental in helping create an offering that was scalable, affordable, easy to migrate to, and that met international standards. Next up, Netmagic plans to get into the private cloud and cloud services markets.
Between Netmagic’s offering, Tata InstaCompute, and Datacraft onecloud, India isn’t hurting for public cloud offerings. Optimism is running high – but will revenues? Stay tuned to TalkinCloud for answers.
