NaviSite Releases Cloud Development and Testing Solution
Navisite provides a full range of managed cloud services, so it’s no wonder that they’re getting into application development and testing with the launch of the aptly-named TestDev Cloud solution. And to promote their new offering, they’re letting developers try it for 30 days, risk-free. Here’s the 411.
On the development end, NaviSite TestDev supports environments like Microsoft Windows, .NET, Java, LAMP, Ruby on Rails, among others, according to the company’s press release. And for testing, NaviSite provides pre-defined and customizable scripts.
Moreover, NaviSite offers so-called “Cloud Enablement Services” like cloud readiness assessments, cloud migration and integration, and cloud optimization. And as a cloud platform provider, NaviSite lets development teams scale up their testing environments to replicate even the most complex customer scenarios. And when testing’s over, NaviSite lets developers flip the proverbial switch and make it an active, production cloud application.
In short, NaviSite sees the TestDev Cloud as a cost-effective, scalable way to quickly and affordably develop applications. And while Google and VMware have seen the importance of cloud application development, it seems that they focus more on the tools and less on the platform aspect.
