Model Metrics: Mobile Cloud Services Growth Is Accelerating
Cloud service provider and integrator Model Metrics is claiming it’s seen a sixfold rise in demand for mobile cloud solutions, with “hundreds” of customer projects focusing on SaaS applications for tablets and smartphones.
In terms of Model Metrics’ portfolio, the provider offers the aforementioned custom-tailored mobile app development, with a general focus around providing customers offline access to Salesforce.com CRM cloud data. It also provides consulting services for helping organizations get to the mobile cloud, according to the press release. It’s most recent offering, the Digital Sales Aid for iPad, a customizable app that makes sure the appropriate sales presentations and materials are always available for the right customer.
“The innovation of the cloud extends beyond company walls,” said Adam Caplan, CEO of Model Metrics, in a prepared statement. “The possibilities go beyond exposing business applications on mobile devices; the real innovation comes from rethinking how business success can be achieved by combining the power of the cloud and mobility.”
And customers are responding, with Model Metrics claiming a 600 percent boost in the mobile segment of its business in 2011 alone.
Now, this isn’t a unique trend: Citrix recently made a lot of noise around using the cloud to deliver any app anywhere at any time, with a strong focus on the mobile space. It’s a different approach, but with the same goal — getting customers their data, anywhere, at any time, with the devices on hand.
