Microsoft Office Live Cloud Suite Back After SMB Access Issues

TalkinCloud might be reporting on a lot of chatter around the impending Microsoft Office 365, but several SMBs are still using the Microsoft Office Live solution for their cloud productivity needs. And now Microsoft is reporting that Microsoft Office Live Small Business is back in action after some users experienced “intermittent access” issues. Just don’t call it an outage.

In true Microsoft fashion, not many details were released. Here’s the entirety of the official blog entry discussing the problems, posted with no omissions or editing save some formatting:

This past week some Office Live Small Business customers may have experienced intermittent access to their accounts and websites. The issue has been resolved and the service is now functioning normally. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for continuing to be a part of the Office Live Small Business Community.

As a refresher, Microsoft Office Live Small Business is half of a soon-to-be-obsolete Redmond cloud initiative. The other piece was Office Live Workspace, which was in turn superseded by Office Web Apps. And when Office 365 finally comes out, Microsoft is expected to move customers from Office Live Small Business.

If you represent an organization that uses Microsoft SaaS, we’d certainly welcome your perspectives in the comments below – there’s a lot we don’t know in this situation.
