Microsoft Office 365 Monitoring: Exoprise’s MSP Solution

Cloud-based monitoring tools provider Exoprise gave channel partners and managed services providers (MSPs) two new offerings this week, releasing a Microsoft (MSFT) Office 365 monitoring solution, which combines crowdsourcing and point-of-access monitoring, plus a new partner program for Microsoft partners. Exoprise unveiled the news at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference 2013 (WPC13).

Exoprise CloudReady Monitor for Office 365 aims to provide MSPs with performance visibility into Office 365 applications through real-time statistics, alerts and trend reports for the entire service delivery chain. The service leverages an IT form of crowdsourcing to pool performance data from all users.

Exoprise President and CEO George Nicholas said in his prepared remarks that spectrum of information from different sources provides MSPs with a 360 view into service and performance of Office 365 apps.

The company said its CloudReady Monitor for Office 365 provides the following capabilities to MSPs:

  • Active point-of-access monitoring — Using sensors placed at user access points, CloudReady Monitor tracks application availability and performance.

  • Crowdsourced data analytics — By aggregating data across all customers’ sensors, CloudReady Monitor provides each customer with a global view of availability and performance metrics. This enables users to quickly determine the location (local, ISP, or SaaS provider) of any service impacting issues.  It also provides guidance to MSPs looking to ensure their service delivery chain is optimally configured.

  • Management-as-a-service deployment — CloudReady Monitor is cloud-based, offering cost, simplicity, availability, and scale benefits of SaaS.

  • Environment analytics — Exoprise supports CloudReady Monitor with an assessment tool for customer Exchange environments. The tool can identify usage patterns that can help solution providers optimize IT configurations and tools for each customers’ needs.  They also can help with planning customer migrations, the company said.

Exoprise designed the program for Microsoft cloud channel partners to expand the market availability of Exoprise’s complementary offerings for Microsoft Office 365. The company also said that MSPs can benefit from the program by reducing user migration costs, accelerating migration for customers, and improving customer satisfaction.

Exoprise Channel and Sales Vice President Warren Mead told Talkin’ Cloud that Microsoft is helping out a lot to bring CloudReady Monitor for Office 365 to the channel and customers, and that could mean the difference between a slow migration to the tool or a significant uptake in deployment.

Exoprise was founded in July 2009 by former Citrix (CTXS) CTO Jason Lieblich.

More details on the Exoprise partner program can be found on the company’s website.
