Microsoft: Cloud Customers Loyal to Primary Service Provider
Service providers play a critical role in guiding customers on their cloud journey, and it seems that customers are showing their appreciation by sticking with their primary service provider. According to a recent study by Microsoft, more than one-third of customers surveyed plan to increase spending with their primary cloud and hosting service provider once their contract is up.
In an interview with Talkin’ Cloud’s sister site The WHIR, Microsoft VP, Hosting and Cloud Service Provider Business, Aziz Benmalek said: “Loyalty is high for the primary services providers. In fact, 95 percent of the customers surveyed are expecting to stay with their current primary provider in the next year. Almost 70 percent have an annualized agreement with their service provider.”
The survey, which was released to coincide with the Microsoft Cloud & Hosting Summit in Washington last week, said the majority (71 percent) of customers’ cloud and hosting budgets is now allocated to managed services, application hosting and security services.
