Metalogix Launching Email Management on Amazon

Metalogix will be bringing its email management and migration solutions to the Amazon (AMZN) Web Services (AWS) cloud. The company will launch its Metalogix Total Email Management and Migration offering on AWS tomorrow, and the vendor provided Talkin’ Cloud with a preview of the new cloud service prior to launch.

According to Metalogix, the new cloud service will provide potential customers with simplified email migration, enabling organizations to increase their flexibility and scalability while reducing costs by moving email and file data off more traditional storage systems and onto the AWS cloud.

Hudson Casson, Metalogix product marketing director, told Talkin’ Cloud that the new cloud-based offering has been in development for the past few months, and the company is planning to drive a 50 percent portion of its sales through the channel.

As Casson said, the migration aspect is ideally suited to channel sales. Solution providers play a critical role in the email migration process, particularly when it comes to large IT environments, he said. That takes time, and it’s something Metalogix is working with channel partners on to make it a reality.

“Migration, to some extent, needs quite a bit of hand-holding,” Casson said during an interview.

Metalogix is positioning the Total Email Management and Migration Solution for AWS as a dynamic email management suite that is capable of transparently migrating, storing, securing and protecting email and file content for both on-premises and cloud environments. The underlying architecture is based on the Metalogix Archive Manager Exchange Edition 6.0 and Metalogix Email Migrator 1.0.

The “dynamically scalable” email and file archive offering was designed to reduce complexity, mitigate risk and improve and user productivity.

Metalogix is also one of the first vendors to provide a Microsoft Test Drive on AWS. With that, the vendor is offering a free trial of the email management and migration offering.
