Kaseya Preparing July SaaS Moves?
During the Kaseya Connect User Conference in June, CEO Gerald Blackie mentioned that Kaseya’s SaaS efforts appeared on track to launch around July 1. We’ll, we’re in mid-July and I just realized I hadn’t received an update from Kaseya. But the grapevine is talking and it sounds like Kaseya will make some SaaS news soon. Here are some best guesses.
Multiple sources suggest Kaseya may take some SaaS steps as soon as today. I checked in with Kaseya Executive VP Jim Alves for an update. His response: “We will have some [news] very soon with our IT Workbench and IT Center cloud product families.”
Pretty vague… but just enough to grab my attention…
MSPmentor wrote about IT Workbench and IT Center back in February 2010. Kaseya’s website has a teaser page to help MSPs sign up for IT Workbench. And a quick Google search shows Kaseya partners like Vitual Administrator and Cloud Services Depot discussing IT Center.
The tools are part of Kaseya 2, an architecture that can be deployed either on-premises or through SaaS deployments. But I must concede: I need to do some more digging to see if/how Kaseya’s SaaS strategy has evolved in recent months. Take a closer look at our June 2010 coverage, and you’ll notice my questions about Kaseya SaaS pricing, and CEO Gerald Blackie’s perspectives.
Meanwhile, multiple vendors have made SaaS moves in the managed services market. I’m running to a meeting so the list of SaaS vendors is too long to cover here. But I’ll be digging more in the hours and days ahead to see what SaaS steps Kaseya is taking, and how partners and rivals are reacting.
