Kaazing PaaS Offers High-Performance Web Communications
Cloud developers and integrators now have a new PaaS playground in which to play. Kaazing, which has been touting the idea of the “living web” replacing the legacy web, has launched a new private PaaS that the company stated provides the ability to deliver web applications data in real-time with enterprise security, high availability and the ability to serve a large number of users simultaneously.
Kaazing has made in-roads into the financial services, gaming, media, ecommerce and retail verticals with its Kaazing WebSocket Gateway enterprise platform, but with the Kaazing Private PaaS, it is offering customers a fully-managed PaaS that can communicate “any data, any time, to any device, anywhere using their client of choice.” Part of Kaazing’s big push with this new private PaaS is its mobile experience.
“To ensure the immediacy their users demand, they need to be able to deliver instant data to any device — a desktop computer to any mobile device. Our new PaaS solution does just that,” said John Donnelly III, Kaazing’s executive vice president, in a prepared statement.
For developers, this provides a new alternative PaaS in which to build new offerings for clients. Applications that run over the web and need to have fast connections and a high level of security is what this PaaS was designed for. In its announcement of the Kaazing Private PaaS, the vendor noted its experience and success in the financial services realm. According to Kaazing, services providers and developers serving the financial services vertical can create customized, real-time notifications to ensure instantaneous transactions on the platform.
Kaazing is positioning its private PaaS mostly around its real-time responsiveness, noting financial services, gaming and retail as being key customers. Developers supporting those three verticals, as well as others that would find rapid response, secure private clouds a necessity, this might be the PaaS that meets customer needs.
