Intermedia Thanks Partners for Strong 2011 Momentum So Far

Hosted Microsoft Exchange messaging provider Intermedia is crediting its MSP and reseller partners for a strong first half of 2011 in a momentum statement that was initially released at last week’s Worldwide Partner Conference. It’s an important reaffirmation of Intermedia’s channel commitment in the wake of its recent acquisition by Oak Hill Capital Partners.

Intermedia noted the surest sign of the company’s building speed is the fact that mailbox sales were up 55 percent in that first half of 2011 compared to the same period in 2010. Leading that growth is the Intermedia Business Productivity Suite offering, which the company hypes as a combined Microsoft Office Communications Server and SharePoint with Exchange e-mail in a hosted UC wrapper.

Partner-wise, Intermedia noted private-label resellers saw a 75 percent boost in their own sales since January 2011, with MSPs, VARs, SIs and others of the 7,000 Intermedia partners contributing to the total 350,000 premium mailboxes the company now manages. Other Intermedia value-added services such as e-mail encryption are also building steam in the channel.

Reality check: Intermedia is a privately held company, so we may never know how these statistics and claims translate into dollars and cents. But Intermedia’s made at least one notable acquisition in the form of Zlago, and it’s been refining its affiliate partner play, so the facts are on the company’s side.
