Ingram Micro Cloud Gains GoGrid IaaS
The Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace for MSPs and VARs is getting cloud hosting solutions by way of new corporate ally GoGrid. The idea is to bring cloud infrastructure services mainstream for the IT channel, and the alliance represents the relatively small GoGrid’s first major relationship with a distributor. Here are some details.
For more details about the Ingram Micro Cloud, check out this MSPmentor FastChat Video we put up when it launched on November 8th. The basic idea: Ingram Micro Cloud is a SaaS application marketplace and education portal that’s populated with information and products from cloud-focused companies from AlertLogic to Workspace Communications.
And now Ingram Micro’s channel partner base has access to GoGrid-powered infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) solutions that can help take a customer and move their on-premise IT environments to the cloud — and helping the MSP’s business model do the same, according to the company’s press release.
“We are committed to investing in our partners in this early stage of adoption and we truly value the role and importance that Ingram Micro and their channel ecosystem bring to the market,” said GoGrid Senior EVP of Sales and Business Development Jack Duffy in a prepared statement.
GoGrid is clearly banking that association with a company as visible to the IT world as Ingram Micro will grow their base by leaps and bounds. And I suspect they’re hoping to convert interested parties into full-fledged GoGrid partners. Stay tuned for updates from MSPmentor.
