IndependenceIT this week unveiled a new version of its Cloud Workspace Suite (CWS) that includes automated virtual data center (VDC) deployment capabilities to reduce workspace deployment time and enhance IT administrator and end user support controls.

The new CWS release also delivers hands-free, multi-cloud installations and more granular control for user self-support, according to IndependenceIT.

Seth Bostock, IndependenceIT’s CEO, told Talkin’ Cloud that the new CWS release was designed to “simplify the complexity and time associated with building single tenant and multi-tenant environments.”

The workspace-as-a-service platform now allows IT administrators to orchestrate and provision all elements necessary for automated, multi-platform, hypervisor and device-agnostic workspaces for use with public, private or hybrid cloud IT environments, IndependenceIT added.

“Our latest software update changes the category dynamics by taking one of the biggest industry challenges — solution complexity — and making it a non-issue through automation. This exceeds the intended value of the category for intelligent simplicity from both a user and service provider perspective,” Bostock said in a prepared statement.

CWS can help enterprises, IT service providers and ISVs

IndependenceIT pointed out that its new CWS release can help enterprises, IT service providers and independent software vendors (ISVs) improve the workflow management functionality for their data center services and application deployment.

The Boston-based desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) platform provider also noted that the addition of automation VDC deployment capabilities represents just one of several upgrades the company ultimately will incorporate into CWS.

“IndependenceIT will be releasing … an enhancement (in Q1 2015) to its dynamic application capabilities as well as introducing support for RemoteApp [and] XenApp as well as Google Apps,” Bostock said. “[And] there are many more exciting releases we will share as we get closer.”
