IndependenceIT this week announced it has added automated virtual data center (VDC) deployment capabilities to its Cloud Workspace Suite (CWS).

The Boston-based desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) platform provider said the new CWS release enables IT service providers to offer services that can help customers better manage their data center service workflows and reduce application deployment time.

“IndependenceIT has decided to extend its logic and workflow beyond deploying and managing apps, DaaS and users to the initial platform build, speeding time to initial deployment,” IndependenceIT CEO Seth Bostock told MSPmentor.

IndependenceIT CWS now allows IT service providers and administrators to select their preferred cloud infrastructure for globally accessible workspaces across single or multiple clouds that correspond to their business requirements.

“CWS is becoming the new standard in cloud enablement for both applications and desktops,” Bostock said in a prepared statement. “Our latest software update changes the category dynamics by taking one of the biggest industry challenges — solution complexity — and making it a non-issue through automation. This exceeds the intended value of the category for intelligent simplicity from both a user and service provider perspective.”

IndependenceIT exceeds industry expectations

IndependenceIT in July announced demand for seat count for CWS rose more than 330 percent year over year, and the new version of CWS could help IndependenceIT capitalize on the rapidly expanding workspace-as-a-service software market.

International Data Corp (IDC) recently predicted this market’s worth would rise from $2.8 billion in 2013 to $4.7 billion in 2018.

Bostock added he believes workspace-as-a-service solutions are “changing the way IT is consumed,” and CWS could help IT service providers differentiate their offerings in a highly competitive global marketplace.

“Cloud Workspace Suite was designed from the beginning with the service provider in mind. This has established CWS as a marquee platform for service providers, offering tremendous advantages from a management and cost perspective. As a result, adoption has been impressive, and our forecasts for future growth are extremely positive,” he said in a prepared statement.
