Managed service providers (MSPs) now can leverageIndependenceIT has unveiled a version of its CWS desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) platform that features RemoteApp automated workflow and delivery. The new release, CWS version 4.1, was announced at the 2015 Microsoft Cloud and Hosting Summit in Bellevue, Washington.
MSPmentor that his company’s customers and partners wanted single app delivery automation capabilities and the flexibility to offer both workspaces and apps with CWS.
Seth Bostock, IndependenceIT’s CEO, toldThe addition of RemoteApp functionality to CWS delivers “a win” for IndependenceIT customers and partners, according to Bostock.
RemoteApp gives MSPs “seamless delivery of one or more applications to any user computing device regardless of operating system or hardware platform” with CWS, IndependenceIT said, and ultimately could help service providers become more efficient.
“The promise of remote application delivery has never been fulfilled because of the functional limits and issues with complexity, compatibility and control,” Bostock said in a prepared statement. “For service providers, this opens the doors to greater revenue opportunities while increasing efficiencies in these environments for their customers.”
CWS allows MSPs to select their preferred cloud infrastructure for globally accessible workspaces across single or multiple clouds, IndependenceIT said.
Also, IndependenceIT noted that CWS version 4.1 features:
- HTML5 gateway support
- Instant deployment of remote desktops, individual apps or both
- Unified multi-tenant RemoteApp gateway
IndependenceIT continues to update CWS, too.
The DaaS platform provider added virtual data center (VDC) deployment capabilities to CWS in November and integrated CWS with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in September.
