Talkin’ Cloud at the end of each day pulls out five must-read cloud computing stories from the news cycle for its readers to review in the morning. Today’s column features Veeam, Microsoft (MSFT) and Intel (INTC).

Here’s today’s list of must-read cloud computing stories.

Veeam To Launch New Products For Azure, Hybrid Cloud. Veeam is launching two new products surrounding its Microsoft business, including Veeam FastSCP for Microsoft Azure and Veeam Management Pack v8 for Microsoft System Center. Both solutions are expected to help customers integrate hybrid-cloud strategies into their businesses.

The Cloud Gets Faster. For high-end applications running in the cloud, it turns out the CPU itself is the new bottleneck. To address that issue, Intel has launched the Intel Xeon processor E7-8800/4800 v3, which in addition to providing access to 18 cores and DDR4 memory also includes support for ways to invoke multiple levels of cache memory directly on the processor.

Ericsson Takes Apple Patent Lawsuits To Europe. Ericsson (ERIC) has filed patent lawsuits in Germany, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands against Apple (AAPL) relating to Ericsson’s 2G and 4G/LTE mobile communications standards and non-standardized technology.

Affiliate Partner Program From Harmon.ie Rewards Consulting Partners. As a provider of a service that make it simpler to collaborate across multiple cloud applications, harmon.ie is pioneering the adoption of new workflow processes within organizations that have adopted software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications. Now the company wants extend its reach across the channel via an Affiliate Partner Program launched this week.

ESI Introduces New Cloud Resources to Partners. Enterprise phone system and cloud service provider Estech Systems Inc. (ESI) is rolling out new resources to help its network of telecom resellers deliver cloud services to their end customers. The initiative includes new educational resources in addition to multiple programs aimed at helping partners to migrate their install base to the cloud via campaign development, management and sales support, according to the announcement.
