Docker Acquires Kitematic Following SocketPlane Buyout. Docker didn’t stop buying following its acquisition of DevOps-defined networking company SocketPlane. The San Francisco-based company on Thursday announced its acquisition of Kitematic. It hopes the purchase will further assist Mac users with developing on its open platform for distributed applications. The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed to the public.
ScanSource Communications To Offer ShoreTel Sky. ScanSource Communications is giving resellers a single source to purchase their ShoreTel (SHOR) communications solutions. The value-added distributor today began offering ShoreTel Sky, a cloud phone system and unified communications (UC) solution.

Cisco, HP Lead Cloud Infrastructure Market. New Synergy Research Group data showed that Cisco Systems (CSCO) and HP (HPQ) maintained their status as cloud infrastructure market leaders during the fourth quarter of 2014. Together, Cisco and HP controlled 27 percent of the cloud infrastructure market.
Will On Premises Security Become Irrelevant?. A new survey out today from cloud security brokerage Bitglass shows that as public cloud app adoption continues to roll through enterprises, security will need to become table stakes for adoption road maps. But as things stand, it still remains up in the air at many organizations, meaning the opportunity for channel partners is strong in a number of areas.
