Talkin’ Cloud at the end of each day pulls out five must-read cloud computing stories from the news cycle for its readers to review in the morning. Today’s column features CloudLock, Egnyte and Citrix (CTXS).

CloudLock Finds Security Perimeter Growing Cloudy. What would you say if I told you 24,000 of your corporate files were publicly accessible and indexed by Google (GOOG)? That’s the word from CloudLock, in its first “Cloud Cybersecurity Report: The Extended Perimeter.” The cloud security provider analyzed more than 750 million files, 77,500 apps and six million users in the cloud and came to some rather disturbing results.
TC 100 Profile: For Egnyte, ‘The Cloud Is Not Enough’. Are your cloud services meeting customer expectations? For Egnyte, “the cloud is not enough,” and this Mountain View, California-based company has developed core values around this mantra that are reflected in its enterprise file sharing solution.
Citrix Makes Peace With OpenStack. When the open source OpenStack cloud management framework first launched, there appeared to be a lot of overlap with an open source CloudStack project that Citrix took over when it acquired Cloud.com way back in 2011. Ever since then there has been a fair amount of sniping going back and forth between proponents of the two open source cloud management frameworks. Citrix today announced it wants to put an end to the war of words between the two camps by formally becoming a member of the OpenStack Foundation.
HP Unveils Cloud Access Security Protection Platform. Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) has partnered with cloud access security broker Adallom to incorporate cloud security monitoring, governance and control capabilities into its portfolio. The Palo Alto, California-based technology giant today unveiled a cloud access security platform to complement its HP Atalla offerings.
Centrify Unwraps Cloud-Based Privileged Identity Management Solution. Unified identity management provider Centrify announced the release of Centrify Privilege Service, the first cloud-based identity management solution specifically designed to monitor and protect privileged accounts..
