Talkin’ Cloud at the end of each day pulls out five must-read cloud computing stories from the news cycle for its readers to review in the morning. Today’s column features Egnyte, Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

File Synchronization Gets Hybrid In The Cloud. One of the primary reasons there is so much contention over control is the cloud comes down to how file synchronization and software gets used. When an end user acquires a mobile computing device, one of the first applications they generally invoke is a file synchronization and sharing service in the cloud. The reason for that is generally because the internal IT organization simply didn’t have that capability.
Ramping Sales Up For Q3. Without an effective sales strategy in Q2, sales teams will find themselves scrambling in Q3. Sales prospecting in Q3 is all about follow-ups and maintenance of relationships. July and August are difficult months to prospect in to new accounts.
HP: We’re Not Leaving The Public Cloud Market. Is HP preparing to exit the public cloud marketplace? Not yet, but the technology giant also has no plans to compete with the market’s heavyweights, either.
Hybrid Cloud Push ‘Largely Economic,’ Study Shows. Expect hybrid cloud adoption to triple over the next three years, according to Canadian Internet hosting services provider Peer 1 Hosting. New independent research from Peer 1 Hosting revealed declining use of on-premise and private cloud hosting environments among more than 900 IT decision-makers in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
Heard Around the Web: AWS Summit 2015. Last week, Amazon stopped in San Francisco for the first leg of its 2015 AWS Global Summit Series, where some of the company’s heaviest hitters unveiled information on past successes and future projects for the web giant. Amazon also shed light on the company’s push to deliver machine learning solutions a la IBM’s Watson.
