IBM Invests $3 Billion In IoT, Plans New Cloud Services. IBM announced it will invest $3 billion over the next four years to develop an Internet of Things (IoT) business. Pat Toole, an executive who has been with Big Blue for over three decades, will serve as general manager of the company’s IoT unit. In addition, IBM said it plans to create a cloud-based open platform to help customers and partners build IoT solutions.
Rising Demand For Cloud-Based Video Conferencing Services, Study Says. AT&T (T) has introduced several new features to its channel partner program to provide its resellers with new opportunities to profit in the telecom space. The additions were announced earlier this month in conjunction with the two-year anniversary of AT&T Partner Exchange, which was recently combined with AT&T Wholesale and ACC Business under the AT&T Partner Solutions moniker.
AT&T Enhances Partner Exchange, Creates Partner Solutions Organization. The results of a new study confirm that personal information is considered more important to users than the devices it is stored on. Acronis released the study in conjunction with World Backup Day, which exists to raise awareness about the importance of protecting personal data.
