Talkin’ Cloud at the end of each day pulls out five must-read cloud computing stories from the news cycle for its readers to review in the morning. Today’s column features Centrify, SingleHop and HP (HPQ).

Disaster recovery experts dig down into Azure cloud outages over past 12 months. Remember when Microsoft Azure went down last year? (This is where you ask, “Which time?”) Disaster recovery company CloudEndure analyzed Azure cloud outages from last year. According to the company’s analysis, the majority of errors in Q1 were advisory, but the following three quarters there were significantly more service interuptions.

HP Aims to “Make the Most of” Amazon’s Leadership. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is likely to remain the 800-pound gorilla in the public cloud infrastructure as a service (IaaS) space for the foreseeable future. And as HP’s Marten Mickos sees it, there are really only three choices for Amazon’s competitors — fight, flight or “make the most of it.
Centrify Launches MSP Channel Program. Centrify this week unveiled a channel program for MSPs to augment its Centrify Channel Partner Network (CCPN) of distributors, systems integrators and VARs. The identity management services provider said its new MSP channel program is designed to bring secure access, authentication and authorization to customers who rely on MSPs’ cloud assets.
Friday’s Last Word: SingleHop CEO Zak Boca. SingleHop CEO Zak Boca has been in the infrastructure and web hosting space for more than 10 years. Before joining the Chicago-based hosted IT infrastructure provider, Boca co-founded and operated midPhase, a web hosting provider.
