HPE GreenLake Partner Ecosystem Expands, Enables Mega Modernization

  • Written by Allison Francis
  • March 22, 2022
The simplified experience provides one view of all services edge to cloud.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has made advancements to HPE GreenLake, the company’s flagship offering. They essentially enable organizations to modernize all of their applications and data, from edge to cloud. This aims to make HPE’s hybrid cloud platform stronger with a unified operating experience. It also includes new cloud services, and the availability of HPE GreenLake in several distributors’ online marketplaces.

Antonio Neri is president and CEO, HPE.

“HPE was among the first to deliver a cloud platform that enables customers to manage and extract insights from their data from edge to cloud, and our continued innovation is driving growth and furthering our market leadership,” said Neri. “In the hybrid cloud market, HPE GreenLake is unique in its simplicity, unification, depth of cloud services, and partner network. Today, we are furthering our differentiation, boldly setting HPE GreenLake even further apart as the ideal platform for customers to drive data-first modernization.”

HPE GreenLake Platform

HPE GreenLake supports multicloud experiences everywhere. This includes clouds that live on-premises, at the edge, in colocation and in a public cloud. In the company’s most recent quarter, HPE increased as-a-service orders 136% year-over-year, and total HPE GreenLake value rose to $6.5 billion.

HPE continues to invest in HPE GreenLake to provide customers one cohesive platform to transform and modernize their organization.

Platform Updates

  • Convergence of Aruba Central, a cloud-native, AI-powered network management solution, with the HPE GreenLake platform. Now, more than 120,000 Aruba networking customers, which includes nearly 2 million devices to manage and 2 million API calls per day, can use the HPE GreenLake platform to order services on-demand and manage their assets.
  • A new, unified operational experience that provides a simplified view and access to all cloud services, spanning the entire HPE portfolio, with single sign-on access, security, compliance, elasticity, and data protection.

“We are bringing our premier cloud management network platform, … Aruba Central, and converging it into this platform,” said Alan Ni, senior director of edge marketing for Aruba. “Aruba Central has been a cloud-based, new technology to manage networks. That said, it’s been siloed in its own separate data lake. With this, we now share one data lake. This allows us to provide a lot more insights and analytics across all the platforms. More importantly, we’re tied into next generation back end systems behind the scenes (billers, for example). As you move into an as-a-service direction, there are different styles that people may want to build. That gives us access to those next generation capabilities, certainly from a billing relationship.”

The HPE GreenLake platform provides the foundation for more than 50 cloud services. These include electronic health records, ML Ops, payments, unified analytics, and SAP HANA, as well as a wide- array of cloud services from partners.

“The service offerings are built around service packs,” said Ni. “The partners have the ability to go in and assess. That includes everything that they need to get these functions up and running. This includes the customer premises equipment that needs to sit on the site and the software that needs to be set on the site. It also includes any sort of support that needs to be there or packaged into something that’s OPEX-compatible, that are that our channel can easily deploy.

Faster Deployments

The goal at the end of the day, according to Ni, is to speed up deployments, and allow the offering to scale with the channel.

“There’s significance to our end customers being a lot more descriptive around what we’re doing,” said Ni. “Frankly, though, there’s actually more impact from a channel perspective as we mature in the market with this.”

HPE also announced 12 new cloud services in networking, data services, high performance computing and compute operations management.
