HP today unveiled seven pre-priced, pre-configured infrastructure-as-a-service solutions for HP Helion Managed Virtual Private Cloud.

HP (HPQ) today unveiled seven pre-priced, pre-configured infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) solutions for HP Helion Managed Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). The Palo Alto, California-based technology giant claims these new additions avoid channel conflict because HP Helion Managed VPC isn’t offered to partners.

HP Helion Managed VPC now offers four virtual server configurations for lighter enterprise-class workloads and three physical server configurations for business-critical production workloads that require dedicated servers, according to HP.

“Traditionally, cloud vendors have taken a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach to the cloud while customers want a simplified experience when finding and implementing workload-specific solutions. These pre-configured workload solutions take the burden off of the customer to decide what they need while providing a ready-to-deploy solution that has been built and tested with other organizations with similar workload needs,” an HP spokesperson told Talkin’ Cloud.

All configurations have OpenStack features and options, HP said. These solutions also can help enterprises manage myriad workloads, including:

  • App development.

  • Data warehousing.

  • Hosted email and enterprise customer relationship management (CRM).

  • Oracle CX, data mining and analytics.

  • SharePoint, unified communication and custom tools.

HP is offering these new IaaS solutions directly to enterprises; an HP spokesperson pointed out that today’s announcement “has no impact on HP’s channel partners” since HP Helion Managed VPC is available to enterprises only.

The new HP Helion Managed VPC solutions are now available for purchase globally.

HP also said it plans to offer additional pre-configured workload solutions for its Managed Private Cloud portfolio starting in April.
