Infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) provider Hostway Services today unveiled Cloud Connex, a hosted cloud reseller and partner platform.

Cloud Connex enables managed service providers (MSPs) and value-added resellers (VARs) to sell private-labeled cloud services without internal infrastructure or development costs.

The platform offers a custom storefront template and customer portal and is designed to help MSPs and VARs drive recurring revenues, Hostway said.

“Hostway developed Cloud Connex in response to input and requests from our reseller community to have an effective platform to enable them to deliver IaaS and software-as-a-service (SaaS) cloud services,” Todd Benjamin, Hostway’s vice president of hosted services, told Talkin’ Cloud. “Cloud Connex is a turnkey environment that provides all the IT that the cloud partner needs to deliver cutting-edge cloud-based services in a branded environment with little or no upfront capital investment and software development.”

Benjamin added he believes Cloud Connex is a “game-changer” for MSPs and VARs.

“For resellers, the cloud opportunity has been largely nullified to date by the inability to layer private-labeled cloud on top of their own services without building expensive infrastructure. Cloud Connex provides that infrastructure along with customizable branding, pricing, bundling and billing that make the entire cloud offering appear to be the reseller’s own,” he said in a prepared statement.

What does Cloud Connex mean for MSPs and VARs?

MSPs can use Hostway’s cloud to provide their services without building their own cloud infrastructure, the company said. These service providers also can manage all of their cloud environments from a single console.

VARs, meanwhile, can deliver branded applications in Hostway’s public cloud.

“Cloud Connex will allow Hostway to continue to fulfill its vision and commitment to be the leading provider of compelling cloud solutions to the channel,” Benjamin added. “Hostway believes that we win when our partners win.”

Hostway said Cloud Connex currently is in beta, with a full release to follow.
