GoGrid Joins Cloudera Partner Program to Promote Hadoop
GoGrid, an IaaS provider specializing in both public and private clouds, has signed up with Cloudera, a provider of Apache Hadoop-based data management software and services, for its Cloudera Connect Partner Program. The program includes technology solutions vendors, VARs and MSPs seeking to drive innovation and adoption of Apache Hadoop, and Cloudera Connect members receive “unprecedented access to Cloudera’s expansive toolset of Hadoop training, knowledgebase and marketing resources.”
“We’re pleased to welcome GoGrid into the Cloudera Connect network of valued service and solution providers for Apache Hadoop,” said Ed Albanese, head of business development for Cloudera, in a prepared statement. “As a premier infrastructure-as-a-service provider, GoGrid focuses on delivering outstanding usability and giving customers a choice of deployment options. This unique value set makes the company an ideal partner for any business wanting to run Hadoop-based Big Data applications on a high-performance infrastructure. We’re excited to be working with GoGrid and look forward to the benefits our mutual customers will gain from this partnership.”
This past April, GoGrid announced the general availability of its Big Data Solution, accessible via its management portal. Its Big Data Solution is a hybrid, single-tenant cloud infrastructure designed to handle high-performance analytic jobs using open source environments such as Hadoop.
Also in April, Cloudera launched the public beta of version 4.0 of its enterprise-class Distribution Including Apache Hadoop, and also partnered with IBM to integrate the Hadoop Distribution and Cloudera Manager with Big Blue’s Big Data platform. Their objective, as stated in the release, was to “deliver a world-class solution that enables organizations across sectors to harness the transformative power of Big Data analytics.”
