French Google Apps Reseller Makes U.S. Cloud Apps Move

revevol

French Google Apps reseller Revevol has launched Revevol Apps, a subsidiary located in San Francisco focused on helping businesses move to Google Apps and cloud software. Revevol named Stephane Donze as CEO of the new venture. Donze was head of research and development at Exalead, a search-based application firm purchased by Dassault Systemes 2010.

The Revevol Apps move reinforces a growing trend — where Google Apps resellers also develop their own cloud applications, which often embrace and extend Google’s cloud portfolio.

Revevol had issued more than 700,000 Google Apps licenses worldwide. With this new foothold on the U.S. cloud services marketplace, the company may seek to extend its Certified Trainers network into North America, which is currently focused on Europe.

In a prepared statement, Laurent Gasser, CEO of Revevol Group, said:

“By launching Revevol Apps, we are seeking to augment and complement our existing catalog of products and services, rather than competing with the excellent solutions we are already selling with our technology partners. Our goal is to exceed our clients’ expectations by focusing on a strong synergy between our expertise, Google Apps and the applications we will be building. Revevol Apps will make it easier for businesses to move more quickly and easily to the cloud.”

Revevol Apps’ future offerings, being developed on Google App Engine, will focus on administration, monitoring, document metadata management, user experience and integration across applications. Revevol Apps products will allow clients to improve their operational efficiency, productivity and overall performance through cloud computing.

Google App Engine allows for fast development, simple administration and effortless hosting of web-based applications. The press release states that Google App Engine’s “cloud-based and native integration results in an optimized user experience with an excellent level of security and performance provided by Google’s infrastructure.”

“As a specialist in cloud computing technologies, we see Google App Engine as the most advanced, flexible and agile platform in the market,” said Donze, in a prepared statement.

She continues:

“Capitalizing on years of experience, our parent company, Revevol, has identified user demands that are not currently covered by existing products. The creation of Revevol Apps allows Revevol to address these needs as a software publisher. Revevol Apps looks forward to working with Google to help even more companies take advantage of cloud computing.”

Big Google Apps Partner Moves

This has been a busy week in the Google Apps channel. The biggest news involved the blockbuster merger of Cloud Sherpas (a Google Enterprise Partner of the Year) and GlobalOne (a Salesforce.com platinum consulting partner). Also, Google Apps Reseller Tempus Nova won a major Google Apps deal with the State of Colorado, even as Microsoft continues to enhance and refine its own Office 365 cloud applications platform for SaaS customers in the government market.
